The sight of a grown man in a Victorian bathing suit knocking out folk tunes on an ancient Scandinavian woodwind instrument does not compare with the best of this country's cultural heritage, I can assure you.
Let's hope tomorrow brings something a bit more exciting, otherwise, just like one of our esteemed local councillors, I'm going to have to marry a Dolly Parton impersonator.

Who would be this councillor, who's wife has an incredible singing voice, then?
As reported in Thanet Extra and Kent Onlline last week, Thanet Council Chairman Jeff Kirkpatrick proposed to his sweetheart Mandy Winters in Paris recently. 'Mandy, an all-round cabaret entertainer, singer and dancer who specialises in a Dolly Parton tribute act, reciprocated with the sentiments of the country star's worldwide hit, I Will Always Love You'.
Would that be the song that includes the verse:
"Bittersweet memories
that is all I'm taking with me.
So, goodbye. Please, don't cry.
We both know I'm not what you, you need."?
Apparently there were a couple of things about Mandy which left a very big impression on our councillor.
CHEST a minute! I'm BUSTing to see a picture of THOSE TWO! They may have their KNOCKERS, but I think Cllr Kirkpatrick and Mandy make a LOVELY PAIR!
