Good heavens! What on earth has happened to the trendy East Cliff's Festival of Britain Fountain? Here it is in November last year:
And here it is this morning:
I know the KFC gulls have a penchant for irrigating their colons in the fountains foamy spumes (who wouldn't after a chomp on the Colonel's finest?), but this is meant to be a historic, decorative feature not a flaming bird bath! All that gull poop's turning it green!

What's happened to the light is the important question.
Alagae, dear boy, algae!
Maybe the infamous East Cliff Chopper's had his way with the street light, just like he did with the concrete lion and the CCTV camera on the Winterstoke Whatsit!
Journalistic licence I fancy.
The top picture was taken after the bottom picture.unless some low life has knocked the post down and not told anyone.
How dare you impune my journalistic integrity, Snaily!
No, the truth of the matter is that the top photo really does pre-date the bottom one, hence the deterioration of the fountain, which was re-painted in spring 2006.
If you look carefully, you'll see the bottom one's been taken from a very slightly different angle, just enough for the street lamp to be out of shot. It's definitely still there, I can see it as I write this!
