Fairground Extraction

Well, all the fun of the fair has faded as quickly as it arrived. The Pleasurama eyesore has reverted to doing what it does best - being an eyesore. Only now it's not even a green eyesore, more like a great, white scab.

I guess there weren't enough millionaires even here in the Millionaires' Playground to keep the carny guys on for the summer.

Update: I've turned that blasted comment moderation off, as you all seem to be keen to have a nice debate now. I know Dr Whatsit said I've got too much time on my hands, but checking my email for comments every two minutes really is eating into my precious thumb-twiddling.

I expect having a summer long funfair in Thanet might jeopardise the chances of Mr. G proving that funfairs are not viable here!

Calm down chaps its not supposed to arrive until the 16th of the month, the following is lifted from David Green’s Eastcliff Matters blog and explains the situation.

My new friend Roger Latchford tells me that, following a lot of hard work by Council Officers, we will be able to have a Fairground on the Seafront, Ramsgate Boulevard, on the old Pleasurama site.
He says: "This will be an added attraction for the coming Season, and like you I was most keen to overcome the difficulties. I am, pleased to say that there will be no cost to the Taxpayer. The fairground will relocate after the Powerboat weekend and they aim to be in place from the 16th July until 31st August however within the agreement there is a" let out clause" for them to pull out should trade and weather be poor."

You people have no faith.

Yes, yes, but when will they be coming back, for how long and will there be a "let out clause" in the event of bad weather or poor trade?

Thank you for turning the thingammy off but now the comment window is small and does not allow me to maximise it. Any ideas?

Yes - I've ordered the blasted thing to bring comments up in a pop-up window. However, if this is going to cause brain haemorrhages among my more, er, senior readers, the safest thing to do would be to put it back to how it was.

Which I've now done.
