Bentley Does It

Yikes! I see robbers made off in a Bentley after a raid on the Halifax in Ramsgate last night! They must have heard Our Gordon Master had stuffed it full of lovely taxpayers' dosh. Just goes to show that even the local millionaires round here are feeling the pinch!

What's that? Where was I last night, officer? Er, um...

I was there! I saw it all guv'nor! Well I didn't see much as the big Securico van was in the way but I saw the car pull up and I saw some guys with baseball bats and a sledgehammer and then I saw them speed away with some boxes and then I watched an ambulance turn up and I saw some coppers attempting to put police tape up around the scene... Ooooh such excitement!

I think you will find that this was not a robbery but just two Lloyds Bank officials merely collecting money from HBOS, obviously the takeover has not yet been finalised and there will be teething problems.

I think we are going to see a lot more of this in the coming months as times get tough.
So far out of 20 of my friends, 9 have been laid off in Thanet alone this past 60 days, tough times are here folks.

Be like the wild west soon...lol

I agree with anon, times are getting ridiculously hard, I kind of wish I'd thought of masterminding a bank robbery myself...! I find it increasingly frustrating to see gas, petrol, food and living prices rise when wages hardly move at all. We can't live forever like this, so perhaps last nights events are a sign of things to come?

I don't see an employment problem with all the jobs soon to be available at Manston etc, as promised by TDC & supported by some loons.

Well Cummins seems to have jobs. Reflecting, it seems, a greater recognition of the need to secure electrical supplies in these times of terrorist threat.

Recommendations to govt included liaison between hospital engineers and backup genny manufacturers at the design stage (now in the new NHS Security of Electrical Supply Regs): and technical authorship more able to support maintenance regime towards spec testing; spare parts backup to be more strategically geared; better customer engineer product training

And Lo it becomes so

And jobs are created. Lives in hospitals are better safeguarded and the ability to emergency shut down our nuclear power plant, and avoid Chernobyl in UK, is improved.

So well done Cummins. Now all that is needed is a bit of historical evidence.

And look at all the jobs Rick appears to have generated (gettit?)in the Thanet economy.

Anon. 10.26 the longer the delays the less likely the whole scheme is to get built.

I understand that to sort out the conditions imposed in the amendment attached to the application, can take months not the 'two weeks' Doug Brown stated. A Section 106 to be agreed could take some time unless both parties put lots of staff on to it. TDC may have the staff but has CGP or its consultants got the people with the expertise or money in the kitty.

So maybe that has been the plan all along, build in delays to the planning process and hope they walk away ?
