Power To The Peoples?

I am gratefulled to the regular contributor Millicent for highlights an item in the latest edition of our treasured council's magazine Thanet Pravda. The article prints the Great Thanet Sell-Off - 16 pieces of, albeit slightly tarnished, Thanet silverware the council wants to vend.

As part of the sale of such gems as Margate Post Office, Albion House in Ramsgate and Northdown House in Cliftonville, the council is holding a 'consultation'. OK, there is an address he can write to with her comments by 6 June, but if you want to 'consult' faces to faces you'll have to be available on one particular weekday between 4pm and 7pm (or 5pm to 8pm if you living in Boredstares). Surely most decent, honest, hardworking peoples - the peoples who might actually give a material about these assets - will be connected in another way at those times? Unless the council are particularly interesting in the views of ancient duffers and the unemployeds? I ask it!

Dear Mr no relation,
I find your unique writing/reporting style very interesting & great fun.
It does get the point over as I have to read it at least 2 or 3 times to make sense of it.

If people work in Thanet then most daytime workers would get home long before 7 (or 8) PM.

One assumes that of course they want to hear any bodies opinion, something I don't belive they do!

TDC your source of one stop disappointment!

Oh yes anonymous 11:51am that is exactly what I am wanting, to dashing home from masticating having dinner with the Mrs Ceaucescu (no relation) and then heading out to some 10 minutes consulting with TDC before they pissing off at 7pm. Nice times for me!

With Margate evidently dying and on its knees isn’t there any way that the Dreamland site could be used this summer for a large funfair? We managed temporary use of the Pleasurama site in Ramsgate last year and I am hoping that this can be managed again this year while the developer responds the environment agency’s strong recommendations.

Nice style comrade Ceaucescu

One feels public consultation is just part of the process and is irrelevant, as the decsion has already been made. Local councils do what they want, and the local residents seem to be just an irrtant, and thier views collected, one wonders how these views are presented to the final decision makers, and this is called democracy.
