Burglars

Tottering back from yet another evening of overindulgence on Harbour Parade last night, I stumbled across a group of people milling around outside a guest house on one of the East Cliff back streets.

Apparently the B&B had just been burgled, with a number of effects stolen from the room of a German guest. The rozzers had been called a while back, but were still C by their A.

Several phone calls and twenty minutes later, a cop car was seen pulling up miles away at the other end of the street, leaving the distraught proprietor to run after them, and the poor German lady muttering something about the staggering inefficiency of our Boys In Blue. Finally, half an hour after Raffles had presumably had it away on his toes, two of Her Majesty's finest testicle jugglers rocked up to the guest house, with one of them bellowing triumphantly into his radio: "We've found it."

Anyone taking odds on the prospect of the same silly constable ever reporting in: "We've found him"?

My daughter had occaision, to require police assistance after her car was broken into, most likely by simple ramsgate folk looking for a way back home, having experienced the bright lights of Margate, fortunatly for her they decided that they would only take her handbag instead which she hides under the passenger seat for just such emergenceis.

I phoned police on her behalf and got one of those call centre places to take the details they lied and said that the real police would ring back and maybe take finger prints never happened did it.

In the good old days you called always rely on a bobby to personal come to the scene of the crime and inform you in person that there was nothing they could do about it

I suspect your boys in blue, were most likely hoping for a spot of breakfast at the B&B otherwise you would never have seen them

I had a similar experience when I was knoecked off my motorcycle, sprawled across a main road, the so and so who hit me did a runner. On dialling 999 and speaking to the police operator I was told that they wouldn't be sending anyone but I should take witness statements and then call in at the local nick! When I told them I was in the middle of the road injured and with my bike in a trillion expensive pieces, they did at least offer to send an ambulance. If you complain all you get is the usual excuse about lack of resources.

Dont get me started on Thanet Police...

The same happened to me as what happened to Tony's daughter. The Police only decided to come out after the threat of sending the story to local radio and asking the Police to answer why etc.

Grumbles!
