Wen Will We See You Again?

With Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao spending three days in Blighty this week, I was rather expecting him to pay a ceremonial visit to Kent's Ramsgate Peninsula. After all, he's here to promote trade with China, and here we are - 'The Home of Chinese Globalisation'.

But no. Alas, Thanet has been snubbed. Perhaps the TDC cufflinks, glass paperweights with Thanet scene at bottom and Turner picture enlarged as a scroll of Margate seafront weren't enough to tempt him after all!

Perhaps he knows what some of us know. China Gateway is dead in the water and Ken Wills has to find some way of paying back £28m. to the Israel Discount Bank.

Surely that's loose change to Our Ken!

It would seem that desperate times for Brown call for desperate talks with China. Will we see Chinese money pouring into the UK that is now the 'sick man of Europe'. Could we see massive investment that turns the UK into a Chinese owned subsidary of Chinamex? Without the USA and Europe buying cheap Chinese goods, China's problems cannot be solved. If the Icelanders could buy up so much in the UK on borrowed money before going belly-up, how much more can the Chinese buy-up whilst prices are rock-bottom?

We may yet see Gateway in Wigan and an application for Gateway at Manston for Phases 2 & 3 to support the possible Chinamex Chains opening up in failed stores up and down the land. If we see Chinamex/Chinese businesses moving in on High Street sites, then the reality of the UK being a Chinese subsidary will be on us. Will we be on the end of Chinese Economic Colonialism? Lets arrest a few more pro Tibet protestors to keep Mr Wen happy and on board.

We live in interesting declines.

British skilled contactors are staging walkouts. The indigenous British are playing spot the ethnic minorities amongst the news coverage of the rallying heavy industry workers.

Funny how no theorists of multiculturalism have commented that the people doing the skilled, heavy essential work are white British ?

In the First World War the Polish and Itlain Americans were proportionately over represented in their armed forces. In Vietnam and to the present day African Americans are proportionately over represented in their armed forces.

But who does the heavy skilled work and the armed forces fighting for UK ?

On the other hand ethnic minorities in UK are proportionately over represented in news broadcasting and human rights.

Ours is a country with a massive economic problem whilst failing to come to terms with a failed and unlawful multiculturalism experiment.

Not quite sure what your point is threre. Would that be the official UKIP, or even BNP line?

'Unlawful multicultural experiment'. Please explain without using any eugenics arguments more suited to Nazi Germany why it's 'unlawful' or an 'experiment'.

Anon 7.40 I suspect your comment may see dear old EC richard in court.

I doubt it, 2:08. Still, do carry on with the wishful thinking.

And 10:24, you sound quite xenophobic. Are you sure you wouldn't be happier over on Thanet's Popular But Beseiged™ weblog?

On another tack - have tried Councillor Nottinghams comment area twice for comment on Freedom of Information piece only to be told it will be " published after approval" - doesn't seem much like Bloggers freedom of speech
