Yes - my old showbiz chum and cheeky chappy de nos jours Jonathan Ross is back on the box tonight, following all that hoo-ha over SachsSexGate! BBC insiders tell me that he was on good form at the recording yesterday, despite every word being scrutinised by the D-G down.
Still, with reliably entertaining guests Stephen Fry and Lee Evans, along with Hollywood blockbuster Tom Cruise, what could go wrong? Although I do hear that he bottled out of asking our Tom the big question at the last minute. Something along the lines of: If you're not gay, why did you pick a name like 'Cruise'?
No worries about QI quizmaster Fry being out though. Back in his Cambridge days it was common practice for the young bucks, when asked whether they were on for a bevvie on a Saturday night, to respond gaily with the riposte: No, we're off for a Fry up!

This ill educated, bad speaking, and just plain rude chap should have been sacked!!!!
Jonathan Ross unbelievably is a graduate of London University and you thought standards had only gone down recently.
I 'did time' at London University (Only a health and safety qualification) but never met the floppy haired abuser
Jonathan Ross is a total prat - and if he is a standard to judge comedy by - then god help us -trouble is all the "switched on and clever" patronage of his juvenile sense of humour seem absorbed by the equally juvenile airspace given by the BBC .
I presume 5:13 you prefer more sophisticated entertainment from the old days. Billy Cotton, or the Black and White Minstrels perhaps?
Ross has always been annoying but anyone who thinks the actual event warranted Brand stepping down and Ross being kept on ice is an idiot. What they did was mild compared to most stand up comedy and certanly milder than the rubbish stand up that Ross tries to do before the cameras roll of Thursday night recording.
The radio show should have been edited yes, but there were only a few complained until the like of the Mail and Express got it and all the neurotic blue rinsers got sand in their clunges over it.
The bigger loss is Brand, who is a better comic than Ross ever will be. Ross is basically a modern Sid James who just enjoys doing very poor interviews in which he talks about himself too much.
Any Manuels grandaughter did turn out to be even sluttier than they suggested.
The thing that shocked me the most his how it turned out that Manuel hadn't been from Spain at all. I find it offensive and racist that people should be allowed to belittle and mock the Spaniards and I for one am going to complain to the BBC about Farty Otters.
The Ross show was very subdued tonight I thought. I will not be tuning in again.
