So to redress the balance here's a bit of good news. They've finally found the spare part for the East Cliff lift, and its now going up and down like a good 'un. And to celebrate my recently elevated (geddit?!!?) opinion of the Uranians, I've even dug out some archive footage from the last time it was working!

Ascension To The East Cliff
I must say I've rather taken to heart all this criticism that I don't give those hard working chaps at the council their due.

Inspired. It's broken again by the way.
I didn't see anything moving
Anonymous 7:38 - you sure it's not just closed for the evening? It keeps very strict hours you know. I descended in it around 4.30 this afternoon (but didn't have the technology to hand to capture moving picture of the great event, as spotted by anonymous 8:22).
Are you sure it wasn't just gravity.
Did you actualy accend in it as well
Good point, Snaily. I returned via the Disgusta Steps, so indeed I have no proof that it actually goes up as well.
excellent! once again Mr Eastcliff your schooboy wit amuses me!
I take it you mean 'schollboy', Mr Stuart!
The typo police strike again!
A Schooboy is a male resident of a small town in the commune of Fischbach, in central Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 158. I'm sure Stuart knows what he means.
This is ridiculous. Any fool can tell that what Stuart actually meant was 'shoeboy', ie one of those tykes you get on street corners offering to shine your brogues, full of local gossip and jolly bon mots. How appropriate for Mr Eastcliff!
