East Of The Wantsum

Here's this week's EotW, available in today's Isle of Thanet Gazunder (price 60p at all good newsagents but why cough up when you can see it for free here on the big blog?)

Given that Radio 4's Any Questions are in the smoke (Margate) tonight, somebody might just want to ask panel member John Kampfner, who heads up the Turner trustees, quite what a dodgy art gallery opening in 2011 is going to do for the fortunes of a town which at this rate will be completely boarded up by Christmas.

Meanwhile I see Thanet Council's deputy chief exec is scampering off to pastures new - to become head honcho at Ashford Council to be precise. Where he lives. Nice one. In a glowing testimonial, council bleeder Sandy Ezekiel paid tribute to Bunnett, drooling that he had achieved 'so much for Thanet during his time here, particularly in his efforts to help regenerate the district'. Clearly Our Sandy's rose-tinted specs haven't been boarded up yet then!

Not if you're going.

Er, I can answer for myself 2:46!

No, sadly I'm otherwise engaged Peter. I will try and catch up with it on iPlayer later though. Let's hope there's some traditional Thanet barracking!

I managed to get a ticket I'm told its the last one, still looking at the line-up its none to impressive.

I can't understand why tickets are doled out, by a third party, just what has the local NHS trust got to do with this.

Also a question of etiquette for ECR do I need to wear a dinner jacket, lounge suit or will my current attire a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt suffice. I understand you know these things.

Let's hope Nappyman shows up, like he did at that Jimmy Carr gig last year.

It's radio for gawd's sake! You could come dressed as Batman's knob and they'd let you in surely? Even on the show's TV big brother Questiontime anything goes. I expect the Camerons from the council will be in stuffed shirts though.

Well, not without you photographing it first Peter.

I think you should all go just to prove why Margate is still struggling to get on its feet. Nothing wrong with the place, just the people who live there, etc., etc..

Not just the people that live there? Tdc only occupy the place Monday to Friday.

Speaking of Thanet Council...I see that Tory Member "Doctor" Moores is continuing his rant at Labour Councillors on his blog. Despite whining constantly that people should be polite, constructive and so on, and longong for some sort of censorship.

He is a bore and should shut the fuck up.
