I was sitting in Romford, in fact. Surprisingly, given that I said I was in Romford. And it struck me that this is what the vision is for Westwood. Romford-on-Sea. Or Bracknell-on-Sea. Or Pick-Any-Ghastly-Dump-in-the-South-East-on-Sea.
Oh dear. I think after several pints of the excellent Doom Bar, shipped in from the other tip of England (or 'Cornwall' as they insist on calling it down there) my prejudices are showing!
Some would argue Westwood X is 'so yesterday', 1:16pm.
Certainly it'll be history if the recession continues to hit retail parks as it has in the last year or so. Maybe, once that happens, we could start a campaign to turn it into a 'heritage' retail park!

there is an out of town shopping/entertainment centre, a la westwood x, in Basildon.
It is locally known as "Bas Vegas".
