East Of The Wantsum

If you're too mean to splash out 60p for today's Isle of Thanet Gazunder, or are concerned it could just be chock full of drivel, here's my weekly two penn'orth. As ever, click on the image to enlarge.

Next week - ugly councillor competition!

I did pay my 60p and was pleased to see Laura Sandys
taken to task by Iris Johnston and ms. Sandys having to backtrack on her latest leaflet where she'd frightened the living daylights out of the elderly by claiming an alleged threat to doctors' surgeries. It was all to do with polyclinics but she couldn't say why or how she'd come to that conclusion. I took her to task before on one of her leaflets where everything she was arguing for had already been put in place some time ago. She really needs to get her act together and keep up!!

You've altered the caption using comments that were made on your blog. Do I get a royalty?

Over? Is it really 10:33? Then how about this quote from yesterday's Times article on what a dump Margate is:

A young mother shopping in the high street was even more abrupt. The woman, who would not give her name, said: “That Turner centre — it’s the biggest load of f***ing rubbish that I’ve ever heard of. What a waste of money. Most of our 15-year-olds are illiterate, they couldn’t give a stuff about going to an art gallery.”

Maybe it is 'over' for the smug artists and self-satisfied public sector types but for the ordinary people of Margate it is far from 'over'.
