Well worth toddling down to your local shop and paying nothing for this week's excellent yourfannit newspaper (available free in the corner of all your favourite local stores, usually behind the twelve boxes of Haribo etc.) - 'cos I'm in it! I thought I'd have a bit of a drone about the training flight blight that's ruining Ramsgate. Quite the antidote to the aviation-fuelled nonsense that usually appears in the yourthanetblogger slot!
So hurry up and get your copy while stocks last. It's bound to become a collectible in years to come. Or if you can't be bothered to get out of your jimmy-jams and shuffle down the street, you can click here.

Nice one Richard, on the subject of the airport my main concern is that the pollution issues have still not been resolved to the environment agency’s satisfaction, it like China Gateway sits on top our underground drinking water reservoir. I keep publishing up the related documents that come my way here and am beginning to think that maybe it’s not the best place to have an airport.
Richard, only 34 people attended the meeting last evening in Minster.
That is not a large percentage of the population
michael, if our illustrious KCC/TDC council leaders have their way, they will be supporting the building of an airport half the size of stansted on top of our water reservior.
Imagine 100,000 flights a year over the top of the harbour, over the new Royal Sands, over Nelson Crescent. It would do wonders for tourism and passing trade
Steve, find something no one really wants on their doorstep, especially where future environmental, political or economic considerations mean it’s likely to fail and leave us with a mess, use the magic words job creation, look around for a really gullible council.
The whole movement at the moment seems to be towards people going back to using the UK seaside towns for holidays and Thanet has Dreamland and Pleasurama the Lido, Royal Victoria Pavilion, Westcliff Hall to offer them.
Don't forget the Boundary Road Art Deco toilets!
"Richard, only 34 people attended the meeting last evening in Minster.

that's not too bad in my book, when people can hadly be arsed to shift off their sofas these days...
34 genuinely concerned people is better than a supine council in my book!!
How many years can the Council get away with doing nothing positive to boost Thanet's economy other than referring to the thousands of jobs which the airport will create? It's been ten years since the airport passed into private ownership and, throughout that time, the morons who run the Isle have trotted out the same jobs, jobs jobs mantra. How wrong can you be? Almost any other use of the site would have generated more jobs than the failed airport which sits on our doorstep, threatens our water supply and pollutes the Isle with noise and fumes.
I don't warm to you, but at least you have a sense of humour
The china gateway and the airport will create jobs - so there!
34 sad old gits will achieve nothing!
Simon
11.34 your right, China bollocks will create jobs! Low paid ones for foreigners!
Do you honestly beleive that CGP are doing anything for Thanet!
Once the planning permission is granted, the whole plan will be sold on for a huge profit! Less the stuffed brown envelopes of course!
My sources tell me that if Parish Cllr Worrow (ex PFLT but now Tory) had stayed long enough and been able to count, 2.21, he would have counted 55 people in the seats. The 'disinformation' campaign continues against the Save Thanet's Water Group and I wonder why?
200(the capacity of Minster Hall) would have been nice, but for their first 'meeting' 55 was a good effort considering the local press other than 'Your Thanet' declined to advertise the meeting.
To get back on topic, before Dickie puts me in the same category as IB, loved the item but why is BA not coming mid-week like Oasis did? Time to ask for some consideration from BA, Dickie, old boy?
Oh get real Bertie, 34/55 people, there are over 140 thousand people in thanet who, by your dismal numbers prove you are barking up the wrong tree. They want jobs and prosperity, not 'tree huggers eating alpen out of their sandles'
With the China Gateway instead of trying to rubbish efforts of the objectors, and I object to the proposal but didn’t go to the meeting, those who are for it, need to answer the very serious questions raised about protecting our future water supply and protecting local people from being poisoned. The fundamental question being why isn’t the EA insisting on the very stringent measures that were mandatory for the previous development in 1995?
Perhaps, using your argument 12:13pm, I should point out that only 20% of Thanet's population voted for the Tory duffers and their fat cat friends who currently lord it over us. Even Mugabe and George W would have trouble arguing that was democracy in action!
I noticed Nackered Old Beast (NOB)was circling both days at the weekend and not bothering to stay out to sea either. Pouring lovely kerosene muck all over us.
Richard, Not a duffer nor do I have any fat cat friends. All my mates are poorish. But it does seem a bit skewed to riddicule a meeting because it was poorley attended. Me I have no wiews in either direction. a I am not allowed to, and b, I havn't seent all the info yet. I will decide when it comes to planning!
Bursting our eardrums? Spraying us with aviation fuel? Over the top comments as normal Eastcliff.
Er, well, 6:53pm I presume you're from BAA who, as anyone who saw Panorama this week will know, appear to have colluded to get a third runway at Heathrow by lying about the impact of noise and pollution!
Unburnt aviation fuel containing cancer-causing chemicals, nitrous oxide, and noise all come out of the back of those aluminium lumps that are flying just a few feet from our heads here in Ramsgate.
Until recently Locate in Kent was claiming on its website that six million passengers fly from KIA every year. How's that for 'over the top'.
tony, where have you been?
would you like manston to be half the size of stansted? whether the planes are "spraying aviation fuel" or rose petals, I'd just like your opinion on what that would do to Ramsgate
