He's Back!

Holy biplanes! The 'popular but beseiged™' Thanet Life blog run by Westgate Blue Rinser Councillor/Doctor Moores has lurched back into life! The Tories must be preparing to drop some pretty stinky bombs on us if they've cranked up their favourite propaganda machine again! Run for your lives!!!!!

Watch what you say or he'll take his plane and drop a bloody big bomb on your mansion.

As I told Michael C. I wouldn't read anything into it. I was writing a piece for 'YourThanet' and thought that encouraging more local people to Blog and place their memories online would be a good thing. So I used it to tidy-up the previous and rather abrupt ending for the Blog.

Unlike Arnie, you'll be pleased to hear, I'm not planning a comeback but may drop in the occasional entry, like the one today, if I think it's useful or informative!

Well actually your point about local people having stories to tell is a good one Dr M. For example, I myself have heard many a tale of how hoards used to flock to Margate and Ramsgate to visit its wonderful attractions, all of which have now sadly gone up in smoke or down in rubble. I guess we'll chalk that up to 11 years of New Labour, eh!

Interesting that Dr M writes for yourthanet as a blogger, but does not run his blog any more!

Should it not be yourexblogger!

No, of course his ego would not allow him to shut up! He's still got to be seen in print, blathering on even though he has committed hari-kari with thanetlife! ( Thank goodness! )

Ooh, stories of local interest. I wonder if that will include full details of Dr Biggles doctorate, discussion of which seemed to make him take his ball and go home in the first place.

Blogging woudn't be thesame without Dr Moores.

And now my own echo blogging is at an end.

report, vindication and remedy take links

Perhaps the more astute of you have noticed a little bit of just retribution visiting the Isle ? But I am retired as a Thanet blogger and couldn't possibly comment.

11.45 I checked this one out and his doctorate is legitimate, his thesis on Lotus was published by Pearson Education Limited a reputable publisher, there are 2,176 of their books listed on amazon.co.uk what happened was, he did the work his thesis was published and well received by the academic community and then years later his university was discredited, very unlucky for him, but the work was done the thesis sound and the doctorate is valid.

Thanks for checking that out and clearing things up, Michael.

Just to remind those of you who may have forgotten the Thanet Blog Wars earlier this year, they were primarily fuelled by some rather off-colour accusations regarding Dr B's doctorate. These emerged first on the since-deceased One Voice In Thanet blog, more often referred to as OVIT.

I think I only alluded to the story once, and then very much in passing, but I somehow got caught in the flack when Dr B went ballistic and called all the papers to tell them he had been defamed by 'anonymous bloggers'.

I think I could only fairly have been accused of extreme political bias against the good doctor, in what I thought was old-fashioned, rough and tumble debate (maybe it got a bit, ahem, personal at times, I'll admit).

What Michael has since discovered about the Doc's qualifications and university seems to me to have a ring of truth, and I'm glad he's published it here. I take issue with SM's Middle England Toryism, but that doesn't mean he's all bad. Admittedly, he did call me 'a welfare sponger with a political axe to grind' and 'the living, gloating metaphor of all that's wrong with our society', but hey-ho, I've got broad shoulders!

I missed the Thanet Blog Wars, ot really joining in with the Thanet blogging commuinity until shortly afterwards. But it seems to me that there's room here for ALL voices, whether tory or socialist, & light-hearted or serious. It would be very boring if we all just preached to the converted...

I do hope this doesn't interrupt the good doctors work on his autobiography "I flew for the Fuhrer".

I'm glad he is back but what's the point of having a blog that isn't public? He may as well just send the odd email to a few friends. Or use this new fangled invention called speaking to people. It feels rather navel-gazing to me.

But as for this obsessing over his so called 'dodgy' doctorate, get over it. It's not like he claims to be able to do a triple heart bypass is it? If he went round calling himself doctor and signed emails and letters Dr Moores. That would be rather pathetic even if he got HAD for it from a half respectable university.

Unless you are an academic or a clinician it just looks tacky to add your doctorate to your name.

In academia, the people with the triple firsts and doctorates from world-class universities are the ones most likely to just shorten their names and ignore their phds, dphils and dlits. Maybe he should just call himself Si now and get himself a baseball cap.?
