Historical Reaction

I see the petition to stop the closure of our splendid Maritime Museum has reached almost 1000 signatures.

The campaign has been spearheaded by the Ramsgate Labour Party, including local councillors and our MP, Dr Steve Ladychap. You can see more on that over on caff-crushing, car-crushing councillor Dave Green's blog.

Meanwhile there's a vicious rumour spreading around the north of the Ile that Margate Museum, which is also threatened with closure, has already been earmarked as a future 'function room'. Well call me old-fashioned, but I thought it already had a pretty useful function - as a flipping museum!

I see that the prize prat on the North of the Isle who supposedly speaks for all the Tories in Thanet ( Sorry, I will moderate myself! ) is now saying that his site is the reality check in blogland!

I see you have already had a go, hopefully everyone else will as well.

Me thinks he is desperately trying to veer attention away from OVIT's pry into his qualifications!

Well the latest rumour is that the Old Town Hall in Margate is going to be cleared out and used as the new Council chamber and the existing one is going to be turned into offices to accomodate all the additional unproductive pen pushers who have appeared in Cecil Street

Interesting Obsie. How long before we have to rename Margate TDCgate?
