Tracey To Become Tax Exile?

Hooley-dooley, that was a good night out last night in Broadstairs and the girls were on good form. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly and it even rained at one point. How the local 'ladies' can go around in lycra mini skirts, or 'pussy pelmets' as my old recidivist Dad still calls them, along with tiny tops that leave nothing to the imagination I don't know and I won't go into the quality of Thanet men. I think I'll save that for another day.

Talking of local ladies, I see from my copy of the Sunday Times this morning that Margate's 'wunderkind' Tracey Emin is thinking of moving to France for tax reasons. She reckons that with the new 50% tax rate for those earning over £150,000 a year she will have to pay something like 65p in the pound in tax. 'The French have lower tax rates and they appreciate arts and culture,' she tells the Sunday Times and adds: 'This Labour government has had no understanding for the arts. At least in France their politicians have always understood the importance of culture and they have traditionally helped out artists with subsidy and some tax advantages.'

Well said Tracey. Did anyone else see our 'Culture' Secretary Ben Bradshaw struggling to remember who Roman Polanski is on the BBC's Question Time on Thursday? You could practically see the cogs whirring. I was sure he was wondering: 'Roman Polanski? Did he do Rosemary's Baby?' To which the answer would in all likelihood have been 'Yes'.

Now I know this isn't the general view around here but I have always admired Tracey and think she is an underused asset as far as Margate is concerned, and I would be sad to see her go. At least here in Ramsgate we could wave to her in France on a clear day. Maybe she could build one of her famous neon signs for us in Calais, 100s of feet high, saying 'Wish you were here'?

That should have been OOO Samantha-I will try and keep up next time..

She never stopped loving Margate but she's happy to bugger off to France to save money. Just when most of us had moved to France to get away from her.

Were it not for a silly language that defines inanimate objects as masculine or feminine, I might have taken off to somewhere like France years ago. The French may be a bunch of cheese eating surrender monkeys at heart but at least most of the country is uncrowded with a relatively easier lifestyle.
With Gordy Boy's lot screwing us all for more tax and misery now, and whoever wins the election in the next nine/10 months having to do the same, I can't say I blame Tracey for thinking of upping sticks. Countless thousands of middle class Brits have already moved to France and Spain for a better life.

Damn. I did a short article on my blog about this story too. Looks like you beat me by a whisker.

Yeah, well, I was four hours into writing up the 'EU banned airlines' thing, when Samantha published hers.

There'll always be someone a bit quicker off the mark, no matter how quick you think you are, eh!

12:11/12:15 (some four minutes later.) PM, it's about time you started blogging anonymously, you nob.

£150k a year and she still wants special subsidies and tax rates?

I like Tracy but talk about forgetting your roots - there's many a Margate family who would love the chance to earn that kind of money, even if they had to pay extra tax.

Spoilt brat.

PLEASE - there are enough cheesy nobs in Ramsgate without all the ones on this blog lately!!!!!!!!!!!

I see FatTwat Margate has now done this story too. Talk about leading the pack from behind.

Oh and neither he nor Cool Hand Luke seem to be able to spell 'Tracey'.

We don't need people like Emin taking their easily earned cash abroad - so she loves margate does she - well what exactly has she done for the place apart feom leave it - says it all really - she is no Thanetonian and the further away from here she is the better- Oh and Tracy before you go - make sure you take your drug dealing cokehead of a brother with you

You may have beat Tony & Luke to the Tracey Emin "story", but others have blogged about Manston airport before you. Alledgedly.

Whatever.

By the way hun, what on earth has happened to your Masturbator and Commander blog? Had a visit from the Vice Squad hehe?

I'm semi-retired now, though if the lovely Tracey wants to increase her profile in Thanet & do a photoshoot then I'd be more than happy to oblidge!

Yes, a semi is about all you could probably manage at your age Peter.

Peter C said...

Exactly, I'm too young to fully retire just yet, so expect more of Thanet's most beautiful women as nature intended in due course!

Lucy Mail said...

To claim that those women are attractive in any way, goes far beyond semi-retarded!

You may be underestimating yourself there, pop-picker.

Sour grapes again Lucy babes? I told you, I'm NOT interested in photographing you, please accept that.

I'm really not interested in your hemorrhoids or what they may taste like, Mr Cockfeeler!
Though I must confess to a little curiosity as to which of your models caused them.

She sounds like my kind of gal!

I think I could overcome my repulsion of boss-titted, minge obscured by gut, chuck on some talc and shag the wet bits, ugly fat hags, enough to befriend such a boiler (so long as she keeps her kit on).

That book that you're currently using as your gospel, the one about assertiveness and dealing with playground bullies, is it working?

I'm currently working my way through quite a tome, myself, entitled 'How to prevent yourself from arguing with door knobs'.

It's tough going but I'll get there!

:)

Lucy, you do crack me up. Just like that bloke on the bicycle that comes past whistling about 8 o'clock every night.
