By that I mean the 'Reusable Seagull Proof Refuse Sack', silly! My friend Stacey in Totnes sent me this photo of hers and it really seems like a good way of avoiding all the mess on the streets that the seagulls peck out from the black bin bags on bin day.
I know the residents of Augusta Road here in Ramsgate have petitioned the council for them, as the council says theirs is one of the roads that are 'unsuitable' for wheelie bins. For 'unsuitable' read 'can't be bothered' if you ask me, but anything that can stop the area looking like a third world country most of the week has got to be worth considering hasn't it? Sxx.

Yes these would be great and solve the problem with the gulls(and look better than wheelie bins)
You know why we wont get these - because TDC are more interested in fining people than they are helping em. This seagull problem has been going on always and TDC still wont do a damn thing other than send some bloke round with a clipboard to report how bad the mess is - I see him every week on my way to work. Some roads up this end arent cleared for days. Get it together TDC or SACK yourselves
I am much happier to see that TDC is spending money on these new "Seagull Proof Sacks" then the £3,000,000.00 a year they spend to clean up the mess caused by the seagulls.
But.....
I bet the contract price goes up because it takes the binmen longer to handle the sacks...
Thanet Council have hit a new low recently after they instantly dismissed one of their hardest working and most long standing employees, for an innocent mistake.
I refer to the harbour master at Ramsgate port. After many years of loyal service, they have left his life and his carreer in tatters, his retirement plans ruined and his family devastated.
They clearly have no respect or care for the staff they employ, as well as their local community. The people responsible for inhumanely destroying a family can be assured that they will be found, they will be named and shamed and they will be brought to justice. Scum.
