Ferry Sad News

I'm not normally one to plaster death notices all over my blog willy-nilly, but now that it's been officially confirmed you might care to know that Mr Denzil Dias, the founder and owner of TransEuropa Ferries, has, er, rolled on to meet his maker, having rolled off this mortal coil earlier in the month.

Ownership of the line has passed to his two sons, who were thought not to have any interest in things nautical, although I see they're now saying it will be 'business as usual'. Let's hope they don't change their minds again, and that Port Ramsgate's only customer stays afloat!

Indeed ECR, a good and timely break before putting this on the Blog site and condolence's to the family.

Lets hope that the ferries keep on going for a while longer, but given the fuel costs these days these grand old ladies of the sea/English channel are getting more costly by the day to run.

Hope the ferries keep going as it puts thanet on the map. Anyway Sure the owners of the port will have already made future expansion plans, so this will not affect the port too much?

Oh the wind farm port expansion, and only if they cna raise the dosh.

At the moment the only source of wind is from TDC.

If there is a last ferry can we pleasssse put TDC and all on it!! Sure Thanet will see a vast improvement when they have sailed off into the sunset.

I want bit information about current ferries to france services. Long back I've travelled on Norfolkline, at that time the ferry to France services were good and affordable. Any personal experiences? I'm planning to make my trip in next couple of days.
