England Expects...

Although it's probably going to take more than a hand from god and a nose full of sugar boogahs for England to get through this afternoon's World Cup crunch match with Slovenia (thanks to reader Puffinman for the pic).

Still, if the number of plastic England flags flying from the Thanet terraces and local builders' vans is anything to go by, the real winners are China!

Are you sure England flags are being flown by builders vans?According to another Thanet blog a lot of builders come from overseas so you would not expect England flags to be flown by them, more like eastern european.

Perhaps, as St George is also the patron saint of Georgia, Lithuania and Russia, they're just joining in the, er, St Georgeness of it all!

The flying of the flag of st George is a compulsary regulation introduced by the government to indicate folk with an IQ of less than 10!

If the flag flies over Windsor Castle then you would appear to have the basis of an empirical case double key press person.

I saw a few polish down at LIDL's the other day. I thought it was quite sweet the fact that their car had the little England flags flying, even if I cannot stand the sight of them! (the flags.. not the Polish)

Far more well behaved, and better representatives of this country than the horrid louts I met in town last night, breaking windows and then drunkenly trying to blame a "black geeza in a hoody who was ere.. but now 'es don a runna!"
