Do You Want Your Assets Flogged?

Just a quick reminder that it's your last chance today to comment on the Grand Thanet Council Boot Sale, which includes West Cliff Hall here in Ramsgate, Northdown House and part of Margate Post Office. Click here for full details.

Brickbats and bouquets should be sent here.

Our leader's view in the Isle of Thanet Gazette is that it is "mischief and that they should know better" than gather a petition against the sale of Northdown House - it is a democratic right to object to the sale of this beautiful house.
The purpose of public consultation is to listen to public opinion no stamp an illegal course of action - riding "rough shod"over covenants set out in 1937. The leaders stance raises serious concerns over his suitability for any role in democratic government - perhaps he is taking lessons from his new found chinese friends or has willing buyers lined up - as it appeared at the Consultation!

Do you know anywhere I can get a 120% mortgage?

The public is only given little time by the Councils to submit thier views.Often the public's views appear to be irrelevant as the final decisions appear to have already been made.

What is important about Northdown House is not so much the public's views although that is important but the legal aspects of the original covenant. Has TDC the right to sell it?

To answer your question at the head of this article, YES if it keeps the council tax down

Peter Miles, failed Cliftonville west, council candidate, nominated all three cliftonville east candidates. He owns 'redundant' fort hill garage, next to the media centre and holds a lease on the Northdown Coach house. Have any of the councillors nominated for their seats by Peter Miles in May 07 declared an interest in the sales? (Ezeliel and Wise)What do you think? Peter has managed to be appointed vice chairmen of the old Margate regeneration committee, so should be able to wangle some of your taxpayers moneys to 'regenerate' his property.Miles has been after bits of adjoining land, such as the piece of land by the Media centre for years.

I say Emma! I'm not sure what Mrs Eastcliff (relation) (formerly Mrs Ceacescu (no relation)) would think of that! Would it be a large, perhaps slightly wobbly asset or a small, pert one by any chance?

Northdown House, and grounds were given in 1937 to be laid out and maintained as a public park for ever. Sandy Ezeciel's intention to pursue the sale regardless of the public consultation, is not legal or democratic. He clearly admires the methods of his new found friends from the Peoples Republic. They know how to deal with dissenters there! Awkward legal facts? , like rats - they don't exist in China -the great leader says so. TDC's legal department has been liquidated as unnecessy I hear, Are you supprised?

I thought the old Margate Council bought Northdown House after the owners went bust and couldn't afford to repair it. Hasn't it cost us ratepayers an arm and a leg since. Good riddance. I don't think they want to sell the park, just the liability.

The council's decisions are not often given a full pulic airing. Often major decisions are being made without full public awareness. The public are being duped by little signs that has slipped down a lampost or notices issued on the back pages of a newspaper notifying changes etc Then are the public given a few weeks to submit their views in the consutation process.
