Tune In For Pugin

I see our Monte Carlo style megalopolis is to be featured yet again on Channel 4 this week.

My old TV chums Tony Robinson and that nice Kevin McCloud from Grand Designs are presenting a Time Team special entitled Pugin: The God of Gothic. Of course, I exclusively revealed this upcoming treat back in April 2006 (Time Team Comes To Ramsgate).

The famous Victorian architect's own cliff top mansion over on the rather less salubrious West Cliff will be featured. I'm not sure if the splendid fellow above who sits on our trendy and stylish East Cliff is the same chap, though, as the Pugins were Catholics and consequently there were 496 of them.

The new show comes hot on the heels of January's RamsgateFest on Relocation Relocation. All Channel 4 need to do now is get rid of That Bloody Awful Noel, and I for one will be supergluing their button down on my remote!

Less Salubrious!?? Cough! Splutter!

Sorry Nethers! Although none of our model villages or motor museums have closed on the east side!

Pity about that glorious Granville Hotel, though. A good job that the Westcliff doesn't have an Albion House, too.
But arguing your point, Ricardo, the Eastcliff lift is, at least, rarely open rather than not at all.

And all our cliffs are crumbly ones. Point taken.

And yes, our Eastie lift is much better than their Westie one, so point taken again. Cripes! Too many points for a poor celebrity with barely two brain cells to rub together!

Apology accepted old chap! (In the new spirit of politeness)
I must say though that in spite of our not having quite the upmarket attractions of the east side, we do sport a couple of well-bred duck's on the boating pool! Not to mention the IOTA gallery.... ah... no... I hear it's to close due to competition no doubt from the turn-out centre. But nevertheless, there are some pretty avant-guard goings on in the last of the shelters!
All a befit's the air of genteel poverty which pervades our end of things!
