The End Of The World Is Nigh

With mad scientists in white coats about to fire up a 'big bang machine' which could cause a black hole that sucks off the entire planet, I'm skedaddling to the safest place on earth I know. My agent's wallet! Ba-da-boom ching!

I used to work in the Medical Research Council Laboratory adjacent to the Rutherford High Energy Lab in Oxfordshire. They had a small version of one of these machines. The first time they used it, all of our radiation monitors went wildly off scale! For a while we all thought we were in for a bout of radiation sickness at best. We later found that they had miscalculated by an order of magnitude the ammount of electricity the machine used and forgotten to warn the national grid. (Even the small machine at Rutherford used more than the City of Reading!) It was the drop in voltage that upset our radiation monitors.

If you read Hawking, a black hole cannot swallow another black hole , so I think we should be safe in Thanet

Why ? Is everyone in Thanet reading Hawking ?

no, but it does prove that all we want is something to worry about. why cant we stick to mortgage repayments and council tax, rather than drinking water and thanet earth?

Thanet is a different planet. So we'll be fine as long as we stay east of Richborough.

Glad there wasn't a black hole created. Shame that the only hole being created is Margate with increasing murders, Clifftonville looking like a ghetto, empty shops, the remaining ones having their shop windows smashed regulaly and is a huge cost to the owners, nothing left for anyone to do, locals, visitors etc, Maybe better the blackhole did swollow Margate as this town giong down hill fast and TDC + ALL appear to have have their priorities wrong. For example since the expensive improvements to the lower half of the High St, even more shops have closed down, some of this money should have been allocated on improving the appearence of the shops. Encourage business and the town will flourish.
