Ask The Experts

Only in your super, soaraway Eastcliff Richard! Each week we ask the experts the questions that count on the burning issues of the day! This week P G Tipps, Thanet Council's Head of Cultural and Administrative Affairs, is in the hot seat!

Q: With the announcement that local museums are to close, you've been accused of lacking a vision for the island. How do you counter that?

A: Aaaa-aa-aaaa eee-ee-eeeeee-e-ee ooo-ooo aaa-aaa aaaaaaa ooo-oo-oooooo.

Q: That may be the case, but you also recently announced that the promised revamp of the island's swimming pools would be put on hold. Doesn't that demonstrate the council has got its priorities wrong?

A: Eeeeeeee-EEEEE EEE-EEEE ooooooo-ooo aaaaaa-aaa-aaaa-AAAAA-AAAA oo-oo-oo aa-aa!

Q: If I could put it another way. Many of Thanet's former leisure and cultural facilities have been allowed to rot by your administration and then sold off to developers literally for peanuts. Is that a prudent use of resource?

A: EEE-EE-EEE AA-AA-AAA EE-EE OO-OOOO-OOO AA-AA OO-OO EE-EE-EEEEEEEEEEEEE!

ECR

Going back to the EKMT taking over Margate museum. Years back.

The TDC museum curator allegedly queries why £7000 has been accounted in EKMT accounts as maintenance for his museum when in fact he does it for nothing as part of his duties .....

And up went the cry "Don't make accusations it isn't fair"

Sound familiar ?

Thanet gets what Thanet deserves.

If the blogs can effect a change in Thanet attitude so that they develop backbones, to resist being walked all over, that would be good.

But what is the betting in ten years time they will still be whinging and still be walked all over ?

I'm surprised you got such articulate replies to your questions!

The people of Thanet elected these bozos and they are getting what they deserve. Next time you meet one of those plonkers who would vote for a hatstand as long as it was wearing the right coloured rosette, why not let them know that it is their fault the Isle is in such a state. Of course, I could point out that the Tories who control TDC are largely elected by North Thanet wards. However, the previous adminsitration was a Labour one and it was just as disastrous for Ramsgate.

On the bright side, it couldn't possibly cause you a headache!

Will they be relocating their offices to the old IOTA site on the Westcliff?

Well, it was a 'sanctuary' turned 'tourist attraction', I believe.
Maybe we could bestow the same fate upon our erected readers? For those of you that don't speak Chinese, that'll be Harry Ezekiel and chums.

I meant that 'serves you right person' seemed ill-equipped to suffer one.
That I need to explain, does make me wonder if you weren't the author of said banality.
