Jet Vote

With all the recent controversy over training flights at Manston, I thought it might be an idea to gauge public opinion. So I've initiated a poll on my sidebar which will run for the next seven days.

Update: Reader Tony suggested that I contact the airport with my idea that they might at least give advance warning of training flights on their website. I emailed them this morning, here is their response:

Dear Mr. Eastcliff, thank you for your email and for your practical suggestion. We shall certainly look in to this initiative. Regards, Customer Services.

Oh, I see Cllr G. Yes, I'll make sure I'm out of town once every 8 minutes!

Do you realise you now have more votes than on your downing street petition?

Yes. I suppose it's less hassle to vote on the blog poll, it's just one click. On the Downing Street petition you have to fill in your name, email and address, then wait for a confirmation email and click on the link provided.

The blog poll is designed to prevent multiple voting and should, um, 'magically' detect if you're trying to vote more than once, so I doubt if it's unlikely to have been artificially inflated.
