Chatting to my architectural consultant (Dave the Roofer) the other day about sprucing up the old CTM, he revealed that there's been a spate of lead thefts in the Millionaires' Playground recently. Apparently churches and schools have been the main target, and even our local alms houses have failed to escape the attention of the blighters. Apparently it's something to do with the price of metal going through the, er, roof.
Coincidentally I bumped into celebrity DIYer and Meridian-boy-made-good Nick Knowles in the wine bar recently, apparently winding down from a mission to rescue yet another DIY disaster, this time in Ramsgate. I say coincidentally, but with all the belt tightening that's currently going on at the Beeb, you have to wonder, don't you?
