Ted's Pet Care Corner

Only in your super, soaraway Eastcliff Richard! Each week our animal loving expert Ted solves your pet-related health problems!

Dear Ted, it was only after we had a bonfire in the back yard this afternoon that we discovered Harry, our baby hedgehog, had been hibernating underneath it. Despite enticing him with his favourite dish of lettuce, he does not seem anywhere near as lively or playful as he was before. I enclose a picture. Is there anything we can do to restore him back to health?

Hoping you can help. T.

Ted writes: Nah, he's a gonner. Chuck 'im outside.

My pet American Pit Bull Sandy is a little off colour.
He hardly touched his jellied eels tonight and did not chase the Major of Margate down the Garden path whilst he delivered some election brochures.

Can you suggest a remedy ? he is an ugly useless bugger but the kids love him .

Reminds me of when my late rottweiler woke me up at 2am having heard somthing outside. I got up and let her out and she came back in and droped a rolled up hedgehog out of her mouth. My problem was then how to pick up a rolled up hedgehog and put it back in the garden.

9:57, like Town Sergeants handling their Mayor, you should be careful when handling rolled up hedgehogs; they are normally seriously riddled with fleas.

Remember, 11.23 fleas have feelings too.
