Ramsgate BNP Candidate Offered Kent Journalist £5000 To 'Go Home'

Now you might think the best way to treat the BNP would be to ignore them. And ordinarily I'd do just that. But Dennis Whiting, their county council candidate for Ramsgate, deserves an outing.

The 75 year old former librarian, who hails not from Ramsgate but Whitstable, offered Whitstable Times reporter Constance Lee £5000 during an interview in 2006 to return to her parents' homeland of Malaysia. Remember, this is the party that claims it's not racist. Dennis the Pennis told Lee, who was born in Kent: 'People from the Far East, Asia and Africa are less capable of being able to assimilate because different racial characteristics lead to different cultural characteristics. We don't think it's a good thing that the whole world should end up coffee-coloured.'

Tell that to the Gurkhas, Dennis. Among his other electoral gems, the prospective county (without the 'O') councillor calls Ramsgate 'run down', says he plans to fine any company that employs foreign workers, and lauds St Augustine for landing in Cliffsend to 'evangelise the Anglo-Saxons' so 'we became a great Christian nation'. Hmm, for a former librarian, he ain't got much of a handle on history, has he? Last time I looked, St Augustine was an Italian immigrant, and Jesus Christ was from Judea. Using Dennis's twisted logic, they should both have been banned, surely?

His age would probably count against him if, heaven forfend, he won and had to travel regularly from Whitstable to his Electral Division. He obviously - and sadly - thinks Thanet will prove more receptive to his odious fascist views than his home town.

If that man lauds an outsider for converting some Anglo-Saxons to Christianity I suggest that he does not go out during thunderstorms. Our god Thunor may turn Mr Whiting rather smokey black with a lightning strike.

Christ on a bike... least it shows the calibre of people the BNP have on the books, not much to worry about there, I wonder if Enoch Powell is one of his heroes?

The link to mr whiting's story appears to be broken!

I'd always figured that it was our small island's (Britain, not just Thanet) destiny to serve as a mixing pot for different races, religions and cultures.
We seem to have been gearing up for it, for centuries, now.
No bad thing, I think!

Honestly, the way these bigots go on, you'd think they've never encountered a shit, white person, of which we appear to have an abundance.

Maybe someone should ask Dennis Whitey what colour he thinks he's going to be if he ever pulls his head out of his own arse.

Having said that, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to vote them in, just to annoy that Alan Qaeda fella.

Well I don't know about chatting with them Peter, as a good deal of them don't speak much English, but I've certainly been friendly with a few of them.

Ahh, the universal language of love!!!

The only way to keep the greedy parties candidates out of county hall, with out voting for the British Nasty Party is to vote for someone who will really help Ramsgate: VOTE for Gerry O'Donell Ramsgate County candidate

In the old days county politics wasn't party driven - you just voted for the bloke round the corner who was doing a good job, or if he wasn't, an alternative.

Liz Green does a decent enough job and I see no reason to change her.

One must compartmentalise the issues to make any sense of it all.

I think it should be compulsory for all BNP candidates to have a DNA test to discover their own ethnic make up. Maybe then they wouldn't be so prejudice.

My vote is with Gerry O'Donellof Ramsgate First aka Peter Griffin from Family Guy (no relation to Nick Griffin, BNP)

If the BNP librarian had read the books he was custodian of he would know that Christianity was flourishing in Briton well before Augustine.

In fact it developed a fairly egalitarian Pelagius philosophy which was denounced as the heresy by the Church so that Pope Gregory the Great sent Augustine to convert the Brits (pagan and Christian) to Roman Catholicism.

Hence Augustine brought nearly 1,000 years of Roman theological (and fair bit of political) domination until Henry VIII.

But you wouldn't expect anyone associated with the BNP to have much of a brain, or sense of irony, and all of this is pretty much irrelevant to today's globalised society.

Vive la difference!

I'd vote for him if he'd get rid of Peter Checksfield.

I've been hard at work all day and would love £5000 to go home! These foreigners get all the perks!

who is this cock and how dare he think that that he can represent me. I realise that the mainstream offers not a lot for the people who think out of the box but face it where does the expression average joe come from. Sometimes you just have to choose between the best of the worst.

To say that Gerry O'Donnell isn't greedy is foolish at best.
I've had dinner with him and if you don't keep your wits about you, and an eye on your plate, it's a great way to lose weight!
Having said that, he'll be getting my vote for King of Ramsgate and I think he's big enough to cover the County too.
As for Euro rep, I can't make my mind up between UKIP and BNP.
Still, there's a few hours left to think about it.

The BNP would send all Gurkhas, former and serving, back to Nepal... The spiel from one of the candidates in the local free paper is awful. As Lucy Mail implies, Britain was created through centuries of ethnic mixing and theres no specific ethnic identity. Such talk of a thing is absurd and shows the near Nazi-like beliefs of the BNP in wishing to clean up the country ethnically.

Sadly, James, there are plenty of Conservatives who feel the same about our multi-cultural society as the BNP and UKIP. Prejudice dies slowly among certain groups, I fear. If you ever canvass in some areas for any party you soon find out where the prejudiced live.
