Poop Deck

Avast behind! Or at least it must have been a pretty substantial botty that produced this eurgh that's floating around our magnificent Royal Harbour here in the Millionaires' Playground. It's enough to make me hang up my brass-buttoned blazer and captain's cap. Yep, I've decided. The deck shoes are going back in the wardrobe, and I'll be returning my Rolex Oyster (Whitstable Edition) to Hiltons toute de suite!

That looks like bacterial/amoebic detritus caused by warmth and adequate food supply. Signs of global warming and yobbos throwing food into the harbour.

It's only happened since they closed the khazi on the seafront.

not very good impression with a new eaterie opening up - went to get the gem last night - delicious looking menu and long opening times, now i just have to persuade the other half that there is something fishy to celebrate here in mafia doomed Thanet!

There was a time when there was a major high profile Government funded public campaign to educate people in the consequences of dropping litter. People are dopey protoplasms. They need telling. Ignorance is the main evil in society. A TV and poster campaign would make a huge difference. Spain was filthy in the 70's 80's. They had a big campaign to educate and now it is spotless.

Its absolutely disgusting. If the council aren't sorting the rubbish being cleared. What are they doing?

Maybe it's your lack of anonymity, Dong.
I must confess that I've been tempted, on occasion, to find out where you live and throw rubbish all over your garden, as you do all over this blog!

And even if that was a joke it is not funny. ECR will you delete it?
It's not coloured people who make a mess - it tends to be the whitest of the white.

Not sure whether that was meant to be funny, 12:00pm, but it came across as incredibly racist.

This blog does not tolerate comments based on race, gender or sexual preference. Fascists, Tory duffers and councillors are fair game though.

Richard Eastcliff said...

As you can see, 12:03pm, I was already on the case!

Richard Eastcliff said...

And I agree - white white van men are the worst offenders!

So, it's OK for everyone to blame eastern Europeans for our lack of work prospects, but not OK to say anything against other ethnic minorities even if it may be true?

Richard Eastcliff said...

Er, who said it's OK to blame Eastern Europeans for your lack of work prospects? Not me. Take that one up with Tony Flaig.

Admittedly the government needs to get a grip on the influx of cheap labour from abroad, but you can't blame these people if they're allowed to come, and want the jobs that you're too lazy, stupid or greedy to do.

ECR. I think you are brilliant. I am a new to Ramsgate (quite rich) Londoner. Think Ramsgate is fantastic and filled with potential. When Ramsgate is finally where it should be (an up market seaside town) I will be the first to petition that there should be a statue put up in your honour. You are the Che of the middle classes and I thank you for it.

relatively speaking there are no 'ethnic minorities' in Ramsgate. It is the most caucasian town I have ever been to. The few that are are here would be doing very well to create the amount of rubbish that line sour streets. Ramsgate is predominantly inhabited by white people with low standards - that is the problem.

Che Richard, half millionaire, half panda.
Things really don't look hopeful for your chances of procreating!

There's no doubt that there are a quite significant number of people in Thanet & most other predominantly "white" towns that are at least slightly racist (they might not want ethnic minorities thrown out of the country but they wouldn't want them as neighbours or dating their daughters either!). I'm certainly not PC (despite my name!), but I feel very privaleged in that I grew up with many black & Asian people, even having a black West Indian stepdad for a few years (a finer person than my real (white) dad could ever be!). Most Thaneterians idea of racial integration is going to an Indian restaurant twice a month...

Anon 12:59, surely blaming "white people with low standards" is a racist comment?

Went to the new eaterie (Harvey's) that opened yesterday. Nice but ridiculously expensive for what you got. Small plate of risotto that was £13 for a few mouthfuls.

Beautifully kitted out but London prices and not justified.

If they don't cut back on the cost I'm sorry they won't last.

Anyone else eaten there?

I am interested in the truth. This isnt an argument about race it is an argument about fact. White people create the rubbish in Ramsgate.

God its so easy having an argument down here. People are just so stupid.

They could be worse...

I've always found it incredibly difficult to argue with stupid people, as they can't often grasp concepts.
I'll wager that you could prove that point, 1:42pm, by explaining how describing someone by their skin colour isn't racist.

Anonymous said...

The people who drop litter have white skin. They are white. 97% of Ramsgate residents have white skin. I am not assuming anything based on the colour of their skin. The fact is that white people drop the vast majority of the litter in Ramsgate.

Don't you even get that? This is too easy.

Anonymous said...

More fool you for even trying to argue with all of these sub-normals, then.
Can't be very satisfying for you!
Though from your gloating, it seems it is.
Poor sad sack, why not get a dog and kick it for fun, if you don't already, that is.

Anonymous said...

The comment about white people would only be deemed racist if it was said by a non-white person (but they'd probably still get away with it).

Anonymous said...

Barack Obama is black.

By your definition this is a racist comment becuase I am describing somebody by the colour of their skin.

I am white.

Anonymous said...

6-39....He's not black, he is of mixed race. His mother was white.

Anonymous said...

That's correct, he's a half-caste.

Richard Eastcliff said...

Oh for god's sake you lot. It's like stepping back 40 years!

Still got the full box set of 'Love Thy Neighbour' have you? Really, what the hell does it matter what people look like unless they're wanted by the peelers?????

I thought Ramsgate Harbour was shallow, but you lot make it look like the ruddy Grand Canyon!

Lil~Miss~Lunatic said...

Can't we just all agree that people are people and some are bad and drop litter and others are good and don't? Skin colour or ethnicity shouldn't come into it and I don't understand why it has.

*forgive my retardedness, it's past midnight and I am tired*

*forgive my use of the word retarded, I just feel that way sometimes!*

Lucy Mail said...

Not to worry Miss L, tiredness can lend one towards trying to fit in with this lot, at times.
And for my part, I'd say I'm more interested in the person, rather than the bag they came in. Though I suspect that the extraordinarily clever (self proclaimed) 1:42/3:22pm may be an exception and would recommend that it spray bleach on itself to ward the seagulls off, if it ever leaves the house!

People who drop litter are of any race, class, age you can think of. It is not restricted to any particular group...except morons.
