Anonymous Blogger Outed By High Court

Yikes! I see an anonymous blogger has been unmasked following the failure of the High Court to uphold his plea that his anonymity be preserved as a matter of 'public interest'. Lawyers for The Times argued that it was more publicly interesting to name him as Det Con Richard Horton.

His blog, Night Jack - An English Detective, was meant to be an insight into Her Majesty's Lancashire Testicle Jugglers, but once named and shamed they disciplined him. Leading the defence, his brief said: 'Thousands of people who communicated via the internet under a cloak of anonymity would be 'horrified' to think the law would do nothing to protect their identities if someone carried out the necessary detective work to unmask them.'

But Lord Justice Cocklecarrot, presiding, countered with: 'When making a judgement as to the value of comments made about police affairs by 'insiders', it may sometimes help to know how experienced or senior the commentator is.'

Given that many people in Thanet (step forward Cllr/Dr Biggles) have tried to hunt me down like a dog over the past three or more years, it's a sobering thought. Which is why I've written this as a precaution for later tonight, after I've had yet another skinful of the Gaddfather's finest!

I suggest you get down to London Manston Kent International and hop on the first flight out of here.

If a blogger says something potentially libelous then I believe they should be outed. Same applies to those who comment.

Next time we hear of journalists protecting their sources, will we have any sympathy for the newspaper concerned particularly if happens to be part of news international.

As you know I'm not comfortable with anonymity, but I appreciate its necessary for some and for others to make themselves interesting or whatever as far as I can tell this copper has committed no crime but been penalised for what so that the times can out someone, what for?

If I'd paid the paper bill recently I'd be cancelling my ST right now and getting the observer instead.

You were mentioned at the cabinet meeting tonight Richard ol' chum. By Cllr Simon Moores no less.

By the way, can you buy me this? http://www.drinkstuff.com/products/product.asp?ID=4256

Holds office under oath to the Queen to act with neither fear nor favour, malice nor ill will.

Anonymity is a concession to fear in breach of his oath of Crown Office (by which he serves people and Queen as an independent ministerial officer of the Crown)

His oath divided is his oath broken.

Should be dishonourably discharged by the Judge from the Office of Constable.

Then imprisoned for life for undermining the Queen as sole fount of justice (independent of govt)

Before 1998 he could have been hanged for that.

R v Bembridge 1783 makes it clear that it is essential in the existence of the Realm that a constable can be charged with a duty by whomsoever and in whatsoever way.

Which means the Constable has a duty to identify himself unless anonymity is a necessary part of "All skill" to pursue a duty, faithfully only unto law, which is already charged.

When is the High Court going to start upholding ancient rights, freedoms and liberties the protection of which is a condition to hold Crown Office as Judge or Constable (such as the right to enjoy freedom from social experimentation like the unlawful multicultural society experiment)

The copper is out of order. Someone should give him a right kicking Gawd Save the Queen.

I probably shoudn't comment on anybody's comments, especially as I am now definitively under the influence, but, hey, you're the good guys OK? Really, seriously, I've had a really shit day today, and I think you guys are the dog's Bs! As for Simon Moores, he can go swivel!

ECR (for now!)

You can always post under your alter-ego, Lucy Mail.

Secrets. In Fannit. Don't fink so.

This is a worrying development as blogging is more akin to conversation down the pub than serious news reporting.
would the next step be to stop people gathering in groups of more than three people to discuss anything?. It is insulting to ordinary people saying that they cannot work out for themselves the rights and wrongs of blogging .

The dull bad ones like Tony Flaigs and Simon Moores fail because nobody goes onto them which is why they spend so much time on yours . ECR is entertaining with always a smattering of true stories that break on this site often as the local press are too frightened to put them out.

The people who historically go to law to protect themselves from the media are the Jeffery Archer's and Robert Maxwell's, who carried on for years stealing from the Mirror beacause the press were too scared to report what they knew was going on.

Any decent democracy needs a thorn in its side to keep it performing properly, Thanet in particular needs it as the local media is so poor, and we have a useless local council with no masterplan or vision of the future which actively holds the area back.

Thank god the "Dr" and his cronies have somebody looking over his shoulder, because it certainly is not being done by anybody else.

I agree and think ECR should have a go at posting as me. I could do with a bit of suave and panache for a change!
And Cliffy, thanks for the slurred sentiments sweetie, but not everyone that comments here is a guy, y'know.
Do you have a little something for the ladies too?

Go on then 9:07!!

I do hope you have the time, effort and money?

Richard Card...Get up to date !!!

All UK Police Officers swear this "Attestation"

"I, .. .. of .. .. do solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that I will well and truly serve the Queen in the office of constable, with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality, upholding fundamental human rights and according equal respect to all people; and that I will, to the best of my power, cause the peace to be kept and preserved and prevent all offences against people and property; and that while I continue to hold the said office I will to the best of my skill and knowledge discharge all the duties thereof faithfully according to law."

Richard Card get up to date?

Now there's an oxymoron if ever I heard one.
In fact, you could even get away with dropping the 'oxy'!

It appears that dull smug ******** from the cretinous Plane boring group blog is posting as anon 8:16 clearly he objects to the reality check he gets from reading Bignews Margate.

Tony Flaig is clearly brave enough to argue for himself without hiding unlike some social misfits see above.

Smug is a thin skinned creature, with few personal skills, tormented by the occasional mention he receives on Bignews Margate unable to get the point that Bignews is an equal opportunities blog in that at some point most readers are offended.

One trip pony Smug is bitter and twisted, since his own blog relies on the reader being interested in the minutiae of the aviation industry and the fact smug stupidly decided to live under the flight path of Manston airport.

Since I am anonymous its interesting that Bignews scores a higher google page rank than many including SMEG,ECR,Thanet life and Strife

Bignews clearly sets out to give honest opinions, something that will always offend cowardly cretins. Yes Bignews can be dull but at least its varied and dull.

Coming to Thanet life, this blog has been a benchmark of quality over the years, it also happens to have been a trail blazer in terms of political debate.

Its likely that without Thanet Life we would still just be reading what Rebecca Smith and other editors sees fit to report on as far as local politics is concerned which is pretty much, Jack.

Assuming Smug was the author 8:16 then its simple go read something else, if you find Simon & Tony
boring don't read them simple as.

In reply to the 11.32 aka local loony, I posted the remark that seems to have so mortally offended him, and I have nothing to do with SMEG.

Whilst unloading his bile , and dribbling uncontrollably on to his laminate flooring, he does not seem to have missed the point. I used to go onto the other two blogs and they were so relentlessly dull and loved the sound of their own voices too much .
Political debate ? on Dr Moores one, hardly just him banging on about some an interesting subject made dull by his sermonising tone to the dimwitted locals.
Tony flaig does the common man chip on his shoulder routine which in its own way is just as boring. As I said in my post I no longer go to these blogs for more of the same, making your last paragraph redundant, I was commenting on that they both seem to spend a lot of time visiting ECRs blog which is where I catch them.

What I did notice when I used to go there was that the comments never got going ,and they rarely scored my than one or two, which makes me seriously question the Google bollocks about BNMs popularity which must be boosted by other links, infact the only person who would probably know or care about such a dubious boast would be Mr Flaig himself.

In ECR we have a funny well written blog that is informative and entertaining and a cut above the sad loner types which the other two fall into the catagory of. The blog comments reflect this , so guys put your handbags down and try to be a bit more interesting.

There's nothing quite like being outed!

Since your anonymous 11:54 how do we know your not telling porkies.

As far as comments on blogs are concerned I often think that since Bignews and Thanet life are so balanced in their views, the authors often leave little to be added frequently just "well said" or similar.

Perhaps you're not Smug but ECR himself who along with every other blogger would not ramp up interest with a series of anon comments from themselves

Anonymous said...

Certainly one line comments from fictitious characters with names like "mick scrubbin" are not likely to be the creations of Thanet's revered blogerati

Anonymous said...

Thanet Life used to be interesting before Moores became a councillor and turned the site into a Tory propaganda machine for his paymasters.

Anonymous said...

Balanced and "well said" ? who goes onto a blog for that ? .Blogs should be able to stimulate debate, not put you to sleep, stick to Your Thanet if you want that.

We can now sleep safely in our beds knowing now that the low turn outs in the recent elections were due to the balanced and excellent representation we have been getting from our politicians , not due to a disatisfaction with all the parties.

With this Google page rank thing last time I looked my blog http://thanetonline.blogspot.com/ had a higher page rank too and now I have got http://thanetpress.blogspot.com/ so that I can tell from its webstats where its traffic is coming from I can confirm that this blog http://eastcliffrichard.blogspot.com/ is considerably more popular than http://thanetonline.blogspot.com/

I only set the stats up recently the figures so far are
eastcliffrichard.blogspot.com (referral) 159
thanetonline.blogspot.com (referral) 89

You can check out page ranks at http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php there is a wiki article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank having read it I still can’t understand why a blog that is evidently roughly twice as popular as mine should have a lower page rank.

I publish up my referral statistics at http://thanetonline.blogspot.com/search?q=pinch this is the closest I can come up with for the relative popularity of the local blogs.

Its been said before "pile em high sell them cheap" Mr Child

A mixture of short pithy comments with a dash of toilet humour and bobs your uncle.

Rank ponder on authority, depth and you might have some idea Michael.

Compare the Sun to the Times one has more easily pleased readers and the other has a bit more depth and fewer readers. The Times might well expect to be held in higher regard although not after out bloggers!

Crikey! This has struck a nerve!

And clearly it didn't have any kind of sobering effect on me at 1:39am! Although I suppose a 'I think yer all luvvly' drunk is preferable to the 'you can all eff off and die' drunk that was me the other night.

Just to comment on a few of the comments... I've often fantasised about me and Lucy, er, becoming one, 2:26am but sadly that's as far as I've ever got on that score.

As for sitting around ranking yourself off all day, I refer the house to my previous answer.

Hope you liked the dash to the toilet humour there, 1:51pm!

Anonymous said...

I quite liked the 'eff off and die one' you are soooooo cute when you are rattled :)

Tony Flaig said...

I'm shocked clearly some muppet has been making comments in the "style of" to deliberately discredit me.

Outrageous !

As we're all aware, self promotion is your department, Mr Eastcliff and the rest of us just stand in your shadow.

Head, SMEG said...

mr 11.32am, thin skinned, you are correct. The pollution and jet-blast from passing planes means I'm down to the subcutaneous tissue.

I don't hide behind my comments, as you do.

Feel free to repeat yourself should I ever have the pleasure of meeting you and we'll have a nice chat about the airport.

Lucy Mail said...

I suppose you right Tony.
That consistent and illiterate use of 'your' instead of 'you're' as an abbreviation of 'you are' did, initially, give me those suspicions.
I'd have thought they would have gone away after your testimony, but I'm afraid they haven't!

BTW I have those feelings on the odd occasion too, Cliffy. Who knows, one day we might be drunk enough to act on it? I'm going to steer clear of top shelf products, just in case!

Anonymous said...

Well in fairness you're right Ecr or Lucy but in fairness I never had the benefit of a private education.

So now the blog has become Thanet's own , " You've got mail " the touching story of how two lonely people found love on the Blogosphere.

Soon to be a major motion picture, starring Brad Pitt as Dick Angelina Jolie as Lucy ,that fat bloke from Dr Martin as Tony Flaig and Christian Bale as the "DR"
