Pants

Being a much impoverished millionaire these days, I've had to cut down on a few things.

So recently I found myself in Wilkinsons (the horror!) buying two pairs of socks for something like 50p. I say 'socks', as that's how they were described on the pack. I think a more accurate description might have been 'foot tubes' as they lacked any sort of shape that even approximated the aforementioned epithet. Still, they did leave a two inch layer of fluff all over the old Eastcliff plates when I took them off, thus leaving the tootsies nice and warm in bed.

A much better buy were the three pairs of Tesco undercrackers I got for three quid the other day. Well elasticated, quality gusset, a snip! Well known underwear activist Jeremy Paxman should get straight over there, given his recent grumblings about M&S Grundies. Not only that, but during a telephone conversation with another Thanet blogger, it transpired he was wearing Tesco kecks too! Can you guess who it was?

It's certainly not me, old chap! Haven't got a clue where Mrs B purchased the last set of shreddies but it wasn't M&S. What I have noticed over the years, is that the elastic around the waist and legs seems to deteriorate faster than in my youth. The result is a 'half-mast drop'or an 'escape' or a combination of both. Not only discomforting but trying to adjust the fit can be misconstrued by passers-by. I will instruct Mrs B to get back to M&S.

I bought some shorts for my son from Tesco Extra, took them to the till and the security thingy was removed. As I went out of the entrance the security alarm went off. With all the punters staring at me thinking thief the security guy came over and asked me to hand over the shorts, the one I bought I must add. I gave them to him and to my surprise inside was another 2 security thingys.
In a way I glad they triggered off the security alarm , I often wondered what my son would have thought when opening them up as a present and finding them security thingys inside.

Imagine what would have happened if he had put them on without discovering the security thingies. Would have made for an interesting trip to the shops!

No, it's not me...

I go from the extreme of "going commando" in the summer to wearing very unsexy Steptoe-esque long johns (from Primark) in this cold weather!
