Following on from the current hunt for our Greatest Living Thanetian, regular contributor Mr Dickens of Broadstairs writes:
With Tracey Emin a candidate to replace Oliver Postgate as the GLT, has anyone else noticed the similarity between the Margate artist and one of Mr Postgate's finest creations, the Soup Dragon from the Clangers? Are they by any chance related?

Does Tracey Emin do anything for Thanet or its art scene other than pull the ladder up from behind her?
Until now I did not see it, but in the background is the white cliff of Dumpton Gap, So it is a strong possibility.
If the soup dragon had Tracy's legs it would win by a mile
If Tracy had the soup dragons talent and creativity she would win bt a mile
If you can find some evidence that the soup dragon came from Thanet or indeed is still living here, then he's got my vote.
I can confirm that there is at least one Clanger alive and well and living in my daughter's bedroom, although I must admit to occasionally asking its advice when I'm in need of sound political argument!
hmm-think Tracy has talent and creativity, she makes a good living from what she does and is famous as well!
I luv Tracey and want to have her babies.
My son leaves an unmade bed everyday; perhaps the twat gallery will give me a million for it!
Oh no, it has to be 'art' of course!
At last we now know why the Flying (Non medical) Doc keeps changing his mind on important issues like Turner Contempt.
He talks to a clanger!
Bet the clanger would rather chat to the soup dragon, and have a more informed discussion!
Tracy's got bigger tits than the Soup Dragon....
Tracey Emin told me that she shagged some people called Si Moore, Rog Letchford and some funny looking crazy cockney hobbit with insane eyebrows when she was younger but she was too embarassed to write their names on the tent.
She can't draw hands but accuses the kids of Liverpool of biting the hand that feeds them when they nick her bronze sparrow and give it back again. What gets up her nose one wonders? The BBC commissioned the £60,000 sculpture. "Inspired" by the Liverbuildings extremely large liverbird scultures. £60k buys a large bag of inspiration methinks. Yet more bird poo from the genius of ugly Margate
