Up here in the Smoke (London) there are plenty of places where you can go and have a jolly old chortle. But a chum of mine is trying to write a piece about stand-up and open mic comedy on the Ile de Thanet. Can anyone point him in the right direction?
I've told him about the regular, trouser-wetting guffaws to be had in the council chamber, but he didn't seem that impressed!
And talking of larfs, here's a trailer for next week's Mary Queen of The High Street show on Margate....

No ideas then? It kind of confirms my suspicions about the current crop of Thanet bloggers. They're afraid to have a good belly laugh in case their gnashers fly out!
Surely you will returning this weekend for the international Esperanto conference, not sure why its being held in Ramsgate but maybe it will be a bundle of laughs. Or what about next week when Griff Rhys Jones will be visiting Ramsgate on May 16, no doubt a comedy chum of yours.
Charles Buchanan's press conferences always give me the giggles.
I laugh at his guff. Then I laugh at the journalists writing his guff. Then I laugh at KIACC repeating his guff. Then I laugh at the councillors avoiding mentioning his guff any more.
I wondered about the Esperanto conference. Wouldn't learning Chinese be more useful as there aren't many Esperantos nor is it a very interesting place to visit.
Is Esperanto the official language of that mythical place Esperanta whose weak economy and imminent implosion has resulted in a 25% increase of its currency value over GBP?
At last! Some witty banter!
Is this the home of witty banter then?
Erm your esteemed friend could mention Les Jongleurs who can be seen at the Granville Theatre in Ramsgate?
And please leave Thanet Bloggers alone
