Auclair On The Eastern Front

I see today's Isle of Thanet Gazunder is towing the party line about the 'necessary' demolition of the listed Marina Restaurant here on Ramsgate's Côte de Rubble. One interesting fact to emerge from the story, though, is that the developers are a company called Auclair Properties in Swanley.

So, who are these well-known, experienced, heritage-loving people entrusted with the rebuilding of one of our town's fine Victorian edifices? Are they on the internet? Not according to Google. How about Companies House? Nope, not a sausage. Hmm. Perhaps they're hiding their light under a ton of bricks!

Not another untraceable company - perhaps it is a subsidiary of SPF Ventures??

Forgive me if I've missed a trick but I was under the impression it is the same folk who, er, slipped an extra story on the Viccie Rd development?

That was what was said originally, although I can't recall the source. Why, are they not one and the same then?

Tenley Properties
6 Durlock Avenue
Ramsgate.

What it says on the Victoria Road application.

Yes, what IS it with the local paper these days?

You don't happen to have an application for the Marina Restaurant to hand Michael? Whose name is on that?

Richard sad to say conservation work of this type doesn’t seem to need planning permission, there is nothing on the government planning website for it.

I believe the source that they were one and the same company to be accurate.

Oh well, thanks for checking MC.

Blimey perhaps local developers should present themselves to ECR before starting work

Well if we find his palatial penthouse apartment (sic. Batman) has been demolished we will know he has wound the developers up too much.

Oh dear, I see Cllr "Sandbank what sandbank" Latchford has been making comments. If it comes under his department I don't think we'll see it re-built.

or they could actually be someone local

Did anyone else see the TDC notice in the Extra this week inviting people to apply for grants to improve properties on Ramsgate seafront ?

Oh the irony of it all.

Its even more ironic than putting security fencing in front of hedge planted to screen a small wooden fence by a council whose motto is "Broadstairs is beautiful -lets keep it that way".
