I must say, it's been looking in need of a back, sack and crack for some time. Ever since it was tarted up in 2006 (click here to read my story) it's been sorely neglected by Thanet Duffer Council. Like so many of their projects, it appears to be a case of neglect it for forty years, spend a bit of dosh on it, then neglect it for another forty years. Hey-ho.
In fact it wasn't even The Duffers doing the clean-up, apparently, but some organisation called Better Beaches, the same people who were clearing up after the awful mess that was made of Margate beach over the weekend.
Hang on. It's a bandstand, not a beach! So how does that work, then?

Stereotyping is of your own making, used needles in sand on a beach kids play in is a major concern, the mechanical cleaner will not pick them up, so worry about the facts and not your image.
I expect all the black smoke from MOD Fire school at Manston and contaminated aircraft fuel from illegally over flying planes have made the bandstand filthy. Who is collecting the fines and why have arrests not been made.

What are the facts and what are you're sources? Which mechanical cleaner?
I was sat sunbathing next to the bandstand one afternoon when an old Jumbo flew over and its shadow passed over me for about a tenth of a second thus causing me to lose a hundred thousandth of the sun tan I otherwise would have! Can't the airport be shut down.
Stripped of all those weeds it'd make a great heliport.
It's good to see that somebody cares enough to do something about the Bandstand.

This is a shocking revelation. Why have you neglected to mentioned all this about Manston until now? You should speak up about these things.
A little bit worrying as the Bandstand is Grade 1 listed and Better beaches aren't. At least there#s not skateboarding though.
With a new pool today why isn't the existing pool remaining and refurbed? It's not going to be knocked down is it?
A seaside town needs several pools and Poole's Pool.
7:44 why so accepting of off-route jets polluting your town? The fuel droplets will have tanned your lungs no doubt.
All we need now is the Holyer-Mallinson tag team of Manston 1963 reduce the debate to insults and pollution-what-pollution.

Who is Holyer- Mallinson and what has he and Manston got to do with the East Cliff Bandstand?
Holyer is Anonymouse and Mallinson the no-corruption chap. They pop up on the blogs - as here - and anonymously to rubbish any improvements that don't include Manston airport expansion, denigrate pollution and corruption problems etc etc.
Manston will make a good fracking site.

We could do with more swimming pools now the new one's open rather than demolition and car parks. And why are the Goerge VI park kiosk parking two(!) cars in the park? it's not a car park.

Thanks for link 11.01, interesting article on the revelations that everyone was again lied to by Thanet Council. Perhaps revelation is overstating it, insert the norm.
Hope its of use 12:29 we need more arrests at TDC for corruption.Sandy was just the first scapegoat.
