Going Dutch

I see Councillor Biggles is getting his joystick in a lather over on Thanet Life about the new KLM flights that began today from the Ile's RAF London Kent Manston Margate Tracey Emin Schipol International Airport.

Bizarrely, I find myself in agreement with our very own teeny-tiny banner-tugger for once!

After all, Thanet is now connected to everywhere in the world, and soon we'll be swamped with gazillions of foreign visitors, all cramming their way onto the island to get a glimpse of our lovely attractions! According to a UKIP pamphlet which flopped through my letterbox this morning, at least 29 million of them will be coming from Bulgaria and Romania! Hurrah!

Of course, I won't be using the service myself as I have my own private Lear jet permanently parked at RAFLKMMTESIA, ready to thrust me off to my other homes in Provence, Bali and the Virgin Islands. But at least this latest development means the radar will work and the runway will be swept. And all with only a £100,000 subsidy from our taxpayers' pockets. Just the ticket!

BREAKING NEWS - EZEKIEL'S RIGHT HAND MAN JUMPS SHIP
Shamed Tory Ex-Council Leader Sandy Ezekiel's former deputy and right hand man Ex-Councillor Roger has DESERTED Thanet Conservatives to be a UKIP candidate for the KCC elections in May. ROGER LATCHFORD, who recently supported his ex-Boss Sandy Ezekiel in court denies being an opportunist and said that he jumped ship because he puts others before himself.

We are delighted with the news that flights have started from the Roger Latchford Memorial Flughafen (Tracey Emin...we don't think so!), and hope to be there soon to burn crosses on the lawn to greet the first arrivals from anywhere foreign. We have followed the construction plans for the crosses in Saturday's Daily Mail.

The complaints from all the horrible, dole-scrounging lefties in Ransgate about noise should be ignored. The airport is the future of Thanet, and if ghettoes (rather areas) become blighted then that is what the horrible reds deserve. They should get back under the beds where they belong.

Either of us can be found most evenings enjoying a post-cross-burning cocktail in the newly opened Biggles Bar on the observation deck. The bar provides an excellent vantage point to observe new arrivals and tweet reports to Immigration staff.

To be clear he is not the politician who jumped ship and was last seen mounting a little buoy ?

Cllr Ian Driver seemed fascinated that the fellow would take a stand against him.

I have already presented the Dutch Helm disease punchline re Battle of the Kentish Knock.

It seems that International Law makes ownership of mercury waste, for the time being stored in Cato Ridge Kwazulu, the responsibility of the company who contracted to remediate it.

Will that nice Dutch airline fly it by consignments back to Thor Thanet ?

8000 tonnes of sludge awaiting a Manston welcome

Thor who managed to have a fire of warehoused fire retardant chemicals.

But happily employment for all the Roamnians and albanians headed towards Thanet's burgeoning tourist industry

What is this, the weirdos corner or something. Not much to debate here so off to greener fields.

That was a quick retirement this time. Did all those reporters on the the first KLM flight get freebies?, it could explain why it got so much coverage, I was beginning to think nobody had flown to holland before.

Wait for the cries when the first technical fault occurs and many miss those long haul connections.

5,000 tickets sold from 54,000 available.

I'll bet a bottle of Krug it's not there this time next year.

Well I do attract 'em, Mr Allan. Although my guess is you're one of those 'progress at any cost' merchants. Probably a climate change denier too. Which in my book makes you about as weird as it gets!

Yes there would be no more green fields in Thanet for Allan Mallinson to go off to if he had his way!

Allan Mallinson in a field, of the very thought of it. The smell of freshly cut grass, the light dew twinkling on the remaining blades. The droplets of moisture on his cheeks and his crumpled black uniform. His Iron Cross glimmering in the early morning sun. His membership card, the pictures of our other local brothers in arms, John, Tom...

Oh the ecstasy, the torment... I need a roll-up.

So, Allan, you support your tax subsidising a failing commercial enterprise, do you?

Isn't it spooky how often Tom Clarke, John Holyer, John Hamilton, Allan Mallinson Ren Wood, and Norah Batty all pop up in comment threads in unsion, and then disappear in the same way? They must be comparing notes off-line.

As Dame Hilda Bracket would have said: "they all 'come' as one, which is nice...".

If you bothered to check thoroughly you would notice that I only very occassionally comment around the blogs. The ones above on this site, where I am listed in harmony with Nora Batty, are not me, but no doubt, some simple wittied soul, who thinks it is funny, is taking my name in vain.

Whatever, you call yourself any name you like if it pleases your simply mind, but I shall not be commenting on here again.

Good-bye Ren dear.

Missing you already, Ren darling. Mwah, mwah. How could you break up the double act?

I was only joking LOL!

Anyone interested in partaking in a sweepstake on how long KLM will last at Manston. I'm wagering that they'll throw in the towel before the end of this year, due to half full planes (at best).

Manston's first week is over toapathy. I doubt it will last the month. Why is a night flight sneaked in before the 7am start? Why are their overflights of the town? And where is the air monitoirng and fines?

The KCC/Visit Kent £100k funding would be interesting: looks like it's paid for the extra "jobs"fr the launch.

TDC are allowing Infratil and KLM to do as they like in endagering the public.

KLM don't need to fill planes. They are a business airline. Seats are expensive so no need to fill a plane like Ryanair have to. Half loads will suffice.

Michael Child has regularly asked contributors on his site to open a google account, particularly with so much spam about. Names do not have to be real, but regular commentators are easier to recognise and the thread of their case followed.

His suggestion has considerable merit, but for some reason the anonymous community seem to love to gang up on anyone using a name until, as has happened repeatedly, that contributor gives up or goes anonymous themselves.

The consequence is that the handful of political bigots or hate and conspiracy peddlers finish up talking amongst themselves where they influence absolutely nobody.

Complete nonsense 8:39, full planes are more profits. KLM is not a business airline but carries business and tourist passengers like any airline.

So far the number of seats sold is 5% of the potential so almost nothing. Another failed airline and spurious economics from the pollution-ignorers.

Fingers crossed it will go belly up as quickly as possible. As per the post at 8.14 I am certainly feeling endangered.

Frankly it's time we put a stop to these ridiculous attempts to bring some jobs and economic prospects to the area.

We are breeding up a fine generation of social housing claimants and the last thing we need is jobs getting in the way.
