A good event but shame not publicised and Manston spoiling it with off-route planes again.
Pray tell, in what way was the aircraft 'off-route'?
Well Charles, the pilot dropped off to ask directions to the airport and have an ice-cream!
The aircraft is off-route because it few over the beaches and towns - its meant to go over the rural end. you know that.
Obviously this costs the aircraft a bit more in fines (these have been declared and invoiced and collected?)and fuel but prevents the public being doused in fuel droplets at low-level.
The A380 has landed at Cardiff Airport for tests, does that mean it's no longer at manston?

No fire cover is illegal - as is covering it up.
I am not a aviation specialist but I am intrigued by the comment by 10-48am that aircraft are meant to go over the rural end.
Is there anyone out there who could help explain that comment? When you say meant does that refer to any rules or regulations that are inforceable and if it does why are they not being inforced? Just curious thanks.

12:46(2): there was no wind. Certainly not stormy weather which tends to be an old Infratil excuse.
12:56: yes - not really obsessive but the Manstonites claim they were on duty on a Sunday. How do we check? Fire cover has been removed before to save costs - as with the radar.
Thank you for your explanation 12-46pm but could you explain what the 106 airport operating rules are, are these inforceable in law also it was pretty windy yesterday when the plane came over the powerboats you can see how choppy the water was. I have called myself curious so you know its me thanks.

How do you know your local fire brigade are on duty and not sloping off.. they are far more likely to be needed.
Tell you what, get your arse up the airport. Park by TG. From there you can look across and watch the chaps... Arrivals are often announced by a loud speaker, you can listen in.
So who was on fire duty yesterday? Today even? You work there and say how great it all is not me.
To make it easier for you if you can't find the fire roster. Who were the customs or arrival hall or warehouse folks yesterday?

Planes approach from either runway direction and there is nothing in the 106 forbidding that. You show one scrap of evidence that they cannot overfly Ramsgate.

Renamed this blog Bicker About Manston then it would be what it says on the tin.
Very apt, 9:24, but it is all down to some person with a pathological hatred of the airport and one who puts up one ridiculous comment, as with no fire cover after 5 pm, after another. Even when those better qualified to know dispute his statements, he still persists.
He has been plaguing Thanetonline for months, years possibly, and now seems to have switched his main effort here. Whether he is a nutcase or someone determined to cause blog administrators to tire of it and close down, who knows? Suffice to say that the desire to do time for him can become overwhelming.
