Press Release From Angloway Media Ltd

The directors of Angloway Media (2013) Ltd are pleased to announce the purchase of the weblog currently known as 'Eastcliff Richard', along with all associated assets, for an undisclosed sum.

Commenting on the purchase Angloway Managing Director John Roberts said: "With a readership in the tens of thousands per month, we see great potential for this site, which fits our strategy of acquiring hyper-local media assets."

The site's former editor has been retained on a six month consultancy basis to oversee the smooth transition of the business to the new owners.

Further announcements regarding the future of the site are expected shortly.

Transfer fee to the British Virgin islands I assume? Big News Margate may be open to equally generous offers but the Thanet Star is holding-out for a late minute bid from News International.

It makes sense for me to sell up and move on. I have very little connection with the area any more, and even less time to devote to crafting items that just get hijacked by the local and not-so-local conspiracy theorists.

I know the new owners well, as I'm developing other multimedia, hyper-local outlets with them. They have the financial backing to hire full-time staff to produce and moderate the site. They have a business plan and seem very bullish about the prospect of making money out of hyper-localism, so good luck to them. (As I am contractually obliged to say!)

Angloway Media is not yet registered at Companies House but there is an accountancy firm in Leicestershire called Angloway. Looks like this is another of your little jokes.

It is lovely to see you two getting along so well now. I am at a loss to recognise what "Conspiracy theories" existed that could have motivated you to embrace free market capitalism ECR.

As you know Rick's report was considered by QC House of Lords recently who concluded that the report was not conspiracy theory.

In fact a backup generator engineer came forward with information and there are now inquiries in Kent by the nuclear authorities.

How did your major public interest issues go ? Heras Fencing and so forth.

Will the site feature Sister Assumpta ? You haven't dusted her off in an age.

The truth has been slightly massaged to suit my purposes, 2:36pm. But I can assure you it's not another of my 'little jokes'.

As for all the regulars such as Sister Assumpta, Heras Fencing and, er, well, the rest, I'm sure they'll be in safe hands with the new proprietors.
