Watching the Concert for Diana last night I was reminded that Elton has a peculiar middle name. Well, Elton in his previous incarnation as Reginald Hercules Dwight, that is.

The old grey cells then began working overtime. That Bloody Awful Noel? Middle name Ernest. W H Auden? Wystan Hugh. Hmm, not surprising that he went by his initials.
