Here's this week's East of the Wantsum - click it to big it. My spies tell me that so far none of our kilted brethren have taken up the offer to fly from their capital to our septic isle, despite my attempt to advertise its obvious attractions.
So any Thanet 'jobs' that the flights may have created have been cancelled out by the jobs we'll be losing in the Thanet tourism trade. After all, the people flying to Edinburgh won't be spending their money on food or drink or leisure in Thanet, will they?

I'm sure Edinburgh has a few seedy bits too! If you know where to look
Naaah the seedy bits are at TDC that's why you have to got to go to the Getaway?
Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (now called 5 Scots) are stationed at Canterbury. Might be a handy service for those guys if the price is right ?
I noticed this morning that Rooks had haggis for sale,is that to temp more scots here,or for the thousands that have moved here already.
stargazer
That looks like a Celtic design very appropriate Richard
Did you check the sell-by date on the Haggis? Now three weeks since St Andrew's Day
And two months since Burns Night!
St. Andrew's Day is in November so a bit more than three weeks.
Burns' Night is January 25th so only three weeks from that date.
Good point 2:01!
I do know Burns Night is on 25 January, but I'd just finished booking a trip on LD LInes for the end of March, and got rather confused with my dates. I do hope this isn't an indication of early onset Alzheimers!
Next thing you know, I'll be repeating myself!

As any self respecting Scot knows, Burn's supper can be enjoyed on any night of the year.
And haggis is English in origin anyway.
Ignorati.
Edinburgh! Fantastic. Just the destination I have been waiting for. This should ensure Manston's success as a portal for international destinations.
