East Of The Wantsum

Here's this week's EotW (click on image to get the full picture). I must say, having ventured to Boredstares one night during the week it was absolutely heaving, and the atmosphere in Albion Street, which has been closed off to traffic during the evenings, was quite pleasantly jolly! Not much sign of, er, any folk music though. Maybe that's more of a daytime activity.

And sticking with the Dickensians, I must give a big 'Mwah!' to those chaps at the Broadie, a teeny-tiny magazine for a teeny-tiny town (distributed free to Victorian bathing suited householders, otherwise 40p from Victory News opposite the Lord Nelson). As you can see below, they've put me top of their list of 'Must see websites' in the latest edition, thus demonstrating that pockets of good taste exist even in the easternmost extremities of our septic isle!

Look everyone it's very straightforward. Dial:

Eastcliff Richard for the wittiest, best informed blog in Thanet. Or anywhere else for that matter.

Bignews Margate for countywide council carping and chippy comments about DFLs.

Thanetonline for insight into how crap Thanet Council's planning department is and nice piccies of Ramsgate.

Thanet Strife for insight into how crap Thanet Council is generally.

Thanet Life for how wonderful Thanet Council is and how it's all the fault of those awful socialists.

Naked in Thanet for a quick wank.

Promote Thanet for how I ate a bacon butty and it was nice.

Ramsgate Tourettes for 'I am not a bean flicker' protestations and generally hilarious observations on Ramsgate life.

SMEG for sensible and informed comment about how the people of Thanet were sold a holiday airport but are in fact getting a crappy old freight airport via the back door.

Simple! (Apologies if I've left anyone out there.)

Richard can dish it out but he can't take it

What about Mrs Tara Plumbing ? you left her out.

Surely I cannot be the only one her loves her incisive critiques on world politics, the meaning of life and the price of tap washers.

And by the way you would be hard pushed to have a J Arthur after visiting Naked in Thanet, it is more likely to get you to bat for the opposition

Personally my favourite blog is Thanet Coast Life, the only blog where every post is of interest to me (even Naked in Thanet bores me occasionally!).

Believe me Peter you are not the only one you bore. More than occasionally I would say.

No-one's forcing you to read it or look at the pictures Steve.

Captain Dogs world of Love is total crap and is like watching somebody elses holiday films why do you bother to include it ECR?.

Tim Garbled is painful to read, his grammer makes my head hurt, he probably is nice but it reads like a drunken ramble.

Simon Moores is an exercise in extreme smugness, and has the feel of a frustrated vicar delivering sermons.

There, glad I got that off my chest

Our Councils are very slow to change, the roads in Broadstairs have required closure for festivals a long time ago. Watching last year the cars fighting for space with people last year at the sea Fes.The same applied to the opening parade of the folk aomg Victoria Parade last year. I see alot of people complaing about having to pay for parking at the New Morrisons, they do not have to pay at Westwood, why go there.. ALL people do is reluctantly pay the 90p do their shopping and go home. If it was free for the first to third hour people would spend time in the town. The council apprears not serious about regenerating our town centres and have little imagination to take things forward.
