Re that last post, I've just been persuaded that Frank would also understand the need to make regular comebacks, so in the true spirit of the bewigged one, I'm back!

Well thank goodness! I so enjoy listening to my husband guffawing whilst reading your light-hearted & witty comments. I can't understand how certain young journalists arent able to appreciate your wit! After living here in Thanet for more than 50 years & watching the incompetence of the local hierarchy we appreciate how much you need to keep your sense of humour in order to keep your sanity!

First of all, let me wish you peace in your time.
Secondly, with regards to the term 'Fannit', I prefer the pronunciation 'Thanet' with the French ending, as in 'bouquet', i.e. 'Ile de Thanet'.
So much better for the island's image, don't you think? I feel ceratin the Tourist Office will be beating a path to my door for the suggestion.
